# Cosmos Luminosity Reels — editorial production standard

Use this reference for Cosmos Luminosity short-form vertical video.

## Art direction

Treat each batch as one editorial collection. Priority order:

1. Human presence and face integrity.
2. Clear idea in the first 1–2 seconds.
3. One visual system across the series.
4. Legibility without native-app-looking UI.
5. Rhythm and retention.
6. Quiet branding.

## Strict face rule

- Every visible face must be complete throughout the selected range: forehead, chin, both eyes, and hair contour.
- Inspect the whole motion range, not one favorable still.
- If the source itself cuts the face or hair, exclude that range; preserving the full source frame does not repair an in-camera crop.
- If a 9:16 crop cannot preserve the person, keep the full source in an editorial window.
- If that still fails, use full body, silhouette/back view, landscape, hands, or material process. Never use an accidental fragment of a face.
- For full-body shots, preserve head, hands, feet, and meaningful gestures.

## Typography and layout

- Current CL editorial family: Cormorant Garamond. Only weight/style variation within that family.
- No grey rounded caption boxes, default platform captions, or second family for labels.
- Main message: at most two lines per beat, with semantic line breaks and generous margins.
- Never place text over the eyes, mouth, face, or meaningful body gesture.
- Conservative 1080×1920 zones: text below y=280; primary text above y=1380; side margins at least 130 px; branding above bottom 360 px; protect rightmost 150 px from controls.
- Cover headline must survive profile-grid crop.

## CL visual system

- Palette: near-black aubergine `#0B0711`, warm ivory `#F7F0E8`, gold `#E1BD64`, purple `#6F3FC7`.
- Prefer clean aubergine space, a restrained gold line/frame, and warm editorial grading.
- Reality Glitch is a brief motivated transition/chromatic split, never constant decoration.
- If a blurred footage extension reintroduces a cropped duplicate face, replace it with a clean color field.
- Avoid effects that resemble missing-media boxes, stickers, or platform UI.

## Rhythm and copy

- Hook readable by 0.3–0.5 sec.
- New visual/text beat every 1.5–2.8 sec.
- Final statement readable for at least 2.2 sec.
- Motivate transitions: shadow→light, observation→action, person→matter, space→movement.
- English-first copy; avoid generic self-help language.
- Keep one thesis, one turn, and one final line; CTA belongs in the caption.

## Font verification

A family name in ASS does not prove the intended font rendered: libass/fontconfig can silently fall back.

1. Keep the actual TTF/OTF available.
2. Render a short verbose probe.
3. Inspect font loading/selection logs.
4. Confirm the selected path/family is the intended font before approval.

```bash
ffmpeg -loglevel verbose -t 0.2 -i base.mp4 \
  -vf "subtitles='captions.ass':fontsdir='./fonts'" -f null - 2>&1 \
  | grep -E 'fontselect|Loading font'
```

## Technical verification

Default export: 1080×1920, H.264 High Profile, yuv420p, 30 fps, `+faststart`, usually 11–16 sec. Export without commercial music when native Instagram audio will be selected at publication.

Verify:

- full decode with no errors;
- no black/missing foreground intervals;
- every visible face complete throughout its interval;
- one physically verified font family;
- safe text/brand placement;
- correct spelling and semantic line breaks;
- covers created and checked.

## Avoid false-positive QC

A contact-sheet reviewer can mistake artwork, laptop screens, intentional dark fields, or subtitle fades for UI boxes, missing media, or absent text. When flagged:

1. inspect the exact timestamp;
2. distinguish content inside the editorial window from actual overlay/UI;
3. check subtitle event times and fade values;
4. run full-decode and foreground/black-frame probes;
5. only then decide whether a re-edit is warranted.

Contact-sheet analysis is a lead, not proof.
